A Noteable Week

Two things happened this week that I forgot to mention. Yesterday was one year since I started this blog!Image HERE
I would have never thought a year ago that I would get so much in return for starting a blog. It was started as a diary of all the things I loved. Then someone actually made a comment, on my blog, and I clearly remember jumping up and down. A year later I have met so many wonderful people that I would have never known otherwise, it is amazing. Every new person I come across and every single comment or e-mail to this day makes me feel this happy....
(That is actually me, my love of sweets started early)

So thank you to every single person who has ever read H&H, ever left comment, ever become one of my wonderful clients and most importantly became a friend. Writing a blog every day can be the biggest pain in the ..... but you all make it so worthwhile! There really aren't enough words to express my gratitude.

Also this week, a couple of years ago, I started my own business. Time flies and I have learned SO much. That is a whole other post which I do plan on writing about soon.

Have a great weekend!

Lamp Update and a Thank You!

I had several people ask me about this lamp from this room. Thanks to Design Actually I now know where to send you- George Kovacs. Thank you D.A.!
Also I would like to send a very special thank you to Beth at Design A-Peele for nominating me for the Kreativ Blogger award.
Be sure to visit her oh-so-cute blog!
Part of this award is to list things about you others may not know. One of my original 8 things I should have put is that I am VERY indecisive. The only time I am not is when it comes to clients homes (another thing I take as a sign that I am doing what I supposed to be doing). Everything else I could debate in my head all day. Therefore it is impossible for me to narrow down all the blogs I would love to pass this along to. However, I love reading interesting things about fellow bloggers so if you are reading this and would like to participate by posting 8 things about yourself I would love to know more!

An Idea House Indeed

If you haven't seen the latest issue of Coastal Living you really should pick it up. One reason being this idea house in North Carolina.Below is part of the "sleeping porch", I am putting a sleeping porch on my One Day list.
You know me, I love the gray!
Very cute sitting area.
I wish this picture showed the whole mirror because the top is interesting as well.
I am usually not a big fan of matching wallpaper and curtains but here I don't mind...
Definitely one of the cutest bunk areas I have seen.

Martha, Martha, Martha

Nothing makes me feel like an underachiever more than a look around Martha Stewart's website. Do you feel that way too? Since it is almost that time.....
The sweetness of this one along with the yarn makes me think of my Grandmother.

Oh no, no, no. Sorry Martha, these will NEVER be in my house. I can't stand spiders or rats...

Gives me the heebie-geebies...

Oh, now here is one I can do...haha...
Martha would never let one go hungry....

The Other Room....

....I am loving in this month's Traditional Home. I hate to use 2 rooms from the same magazine but this one I LOVE. Designed by Elizabeth Bailey, this room is full of details that deserve a second look.
Did you see the rug, Lucite table, pink tray, bolster, and headboard above? LOVE the sofa below....
Hello console and antique chair. Branches add so much to this room (even if temporary). And what about the lining of the bed curtains?
How beautiful is this side table set up?
This may be one of my favorite rooms ever. I really do wish it were mine. Well maybe my getaway room.....

Tailored Traditional

When looking for a room from this month's Traditional Home I came across Kelley Proxmire's website and I was blown away. Her style is described as "Tailored Traditional" and traditional has never looked so good.I love how cheerful the rooms are, doesn't this make you happy?
All the details in every room- the trims, the patterns, the paint- nothing is overlooked.

This was the room that grabbed me from Traditional Home...
I love the fabric on the dining room chairs and what she decided to use for the Host chair....
I would love to stay in this room.
Notice the ceiling detail....

Quiet Time

"Where there is charity and wisdom, there is neither fear nor ignorance. Where there is patience and humility there is no greed."
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury,pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Both from Saint Francis of Assisi
