Vintage- Everything Old (really) Is New Again

What better way to finish this series than looking at some vintage items? In continuation of the week's theme and the second theme, It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, I thought I would do a post to get ready for Monday night's premiere of the Rachel Zoe Project. So I rounded up some things from one of the online vintage meccas, 1st Dibs, for your viewing pleasure. I also tried to stick with a (mostly) retro theme in honor of Mrs. Zoe.....I know, you are shocked I start with grey!

Don't these look like something I should be in while drinking my morning coffee?
I LOVE this dress. I can hear men's thoughts now though and I don't think the word "love" is anywhere in them.
Would I ever wear a floor length sequined jacket? Probably not, but I bet our girl R. Z. would...

If you are going to be a vintage maven you are going to need at least one of these....

Okay now on to the part when we look at old finds belonging to yours truly. Starting with this piece I received as a Christmas present...

Haaaaaaaaaaaaa, oh I kill me! Sorry, this blog is part fantasy land for me and I just like to say things to see what it would feel like. I don't think this emerald beauty will ever be mine, I just hope whoever does buy it will love it the way I would.

Well you know I couldn't help but add some things for the home....
Seriously, how cool are these bar stools? I have a few clients looking for bar stools at the moment and I would be one happy decorator if these were to ever end up in a clients home.

This is kind of random but I love the history behind quilts. (Mom, this one is for you) For more like this one check out Gee's Bend.
Not so retro, but I still think they are "bananas".
I picture these bookcases as the unexpected element in the room. The piece that doesn't go with anything else, yet is perfect there.

"Oh this old thing....it's just my Louis Desk Trunk from 1916...." Sorry, once again I was just roll playing, you know to see what a couple, umm a few, well let's be honest- several 0's added onto to my bank balance would feel like.
If you are dying for the next season of the Rachel Zoe Project be sure to check out the countdown clips to pass the time.

Question for any grammar/etiquette/English buffs who are reading (assuming anyone is still reading)- If someone is married but still goes by their maiden name, like say oh...Rachel Zoe...is it Mrs. Zoe? I know I could just google the answer but I would love to hear from you!

*I know I have said this before but if you are one the above mentioned experts and you still read this blog- an extra special thank you since I know it must be like nails on a chalkboard to wade through crazy punctuations, etc. every day!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!!

Out and About

Just some things I spotted out and about while shopping for clients. This first piece is actually 4 REALLY old corbels attached on the back to make an almost cross-like architectural piece. It was love at first sight. Unfortunately, it did not work for my client and it is not in my budget. However, one day I am going to replicate this.....What is it with animal heads? My FRIEND must be contagious...
The head and these horses are from Z Gallerie. I have wanted these for a WHILE, but now in this green color I want one even more. Once again, I can't explain it...
Saw these paintings in an antique store, very similiar to my true love Hyche
These barley twist tables are classic and multi-functional...

Something about these chairs and the next one grabbed me. Maybe it was the GREAT price, or my love of tufting. Definitely in need of a good reupholster.
The suitcases made me smile because the initials on them are "RAT". Not sure how I feel about the light fixture.

LOVE! You should be mine. I could be so organized!
I have a thing for "Cane" furniture, don't know why...
Once again, is it the price? The tufting? I can't explain, I just heard it call my name as I walked by.
Narrow tables like this one are hard to find but so useful.
Random: Love these sheers from West Elm and the table from Target you have seen on here before, but now it is on clearance. How many times a day must I remind myself that clearance/sale is still not free!

So many good deals, so little funds...
