Hi, sorry for the absence yesterday, we were dealing with a very large pine tree that tried to take out our house. We are fine, Harry (dog, the only one home at the time) is also fine although I think he needed a Xanax and the house is fine for the most part but it was craziness nonetheless. Anyhoo, I had several e-mails about the light in the soon to be nursery...I found it in an antique store months before Patrick and I bought our house 4 years ago and it stayed in the back in my car for a lonnnnnggggg time but I knew I wanted it. The store thought it came from a restaurant probably from the 50's but that is all I know, sorry I wish I knew more. I do love this light, but it is not staying in the nursery. I have another light I want to use (if it ever comes, I am starting to doubt I will ever see it). This light will go to a good home though, our guest room! I can't wait to have a different light in there, it has been neglected for way too long.
While in New York I met the very talented designer, Lisa Luby Ryan in the Arteriors showroom. Arteriors is a line I use frequently and I was thrilled to find out she had partnered with them to create a line. I loved everything she made and it was great to discuss with her the various pieces, she is so kind and engaging. The pieces, inspired by her numerous travels, are stunners with great details. I thought I would share a few... All the lamps feature fabulous shades... Accesories can be hard to find, I love this one for a table or bookcase... Congratulations Lisa, the collection looks great!
This image makes me want to paint something BRIGHT.... Although while looking on West Elm I was drawn back to the dark side...this rug is on my short list...hmmm, so is that lumbar pillow...and the far side table too... Remember this light...It is now up in its new home in a Nashville nursery. I was having serious camera issues that day, I promise more complete pictures later.... I have to say that is not the only lighting in the house I LOVE.....this is in den right when you walk in... Needless to say I enjoyed helping with this house.
In the search to find this picture to show a client....(we were looking for a light similiar to this one)... I found this kitchen, which brings me back to my favorite color... Sigh, hello gray cabinets, you will live in my home one day.
One of my favorite lighting companies is Canopy Designs. Their lights are made to order with several different crystal options to chose from depending on the fixture. I love that they have so many whimsical options, it makes me want to do children's rooms all day... The reason they are my mind today is because of this particular light.... So beautiful in person, this picture is not doing much justice. Anyhoo, a client of mine is putting 3 of these up in her master bedroom in a cluster instead of one larger light. I can't wait to see it. These past few months I have worked on some wonderful rooms and I promise once I get a chance to take pictures I will share. Somehow that always seems to find its way to the bottom of the priority list.

Today is our wedding anniversary, the anniversary of the day we promised forever no matter what. So in honor of that I thought I would post some things that I have loved...you guessed it, forever. As a decorator and well, really just an average human, I fall in love with new things all the time. Some though don't just pass as a phase, some stick for years. For example, this poster...I have loved this for years, well to be exact since the day this issue was delivered in my mailbox, September 2006 I believe... While we are looking through things, I know I am not original on this one, but I LOVE the Philippe Starck Louis Ghost Chair. A favorite piece from a favorite company... Another old favorite from Market, not even sure if this is still available...I picture several of these around an old, worn farm table.... Just a few of many, many fabrics I LOVE. I generally don't post fabric because they don't look half as good as they do in person... These below may be the first pattern I ever really really loved. Just trust me, in person they are very cool, oh and very pricey. It would take me DAYS to post all the fabrics I have loved for years. When I step off the elevator at Market, Bobo is always the first showroom I see. Many of their pieces I have loved forever, this is just one....I know I am going against the majority here, but I LOVE this piece, well really it is two pieces put together. Most people think I am crazy (Hubby included), but it is just one of those random things that has always drawn me in. Once again, so much better in person. A Swedish clock, I will have one somewhere in my house one day. These here. Some oldies that are longer available that still call my name from beyond the grave, haha. I could go on for a while but I will stop for now. This year instead of presents we are putting money towards a trip we are planning. Of course, last year's gift to each other is in the picture below and how do you top Harry?*This is only picture we have of all 3 of us, it is not a good picture of anyone (Harry included), how sad is that?
**One last thing, while this is not our "song", it always makes me think of spending forever with the one I love. While I like the video, I wish I knew how to just post the audio so there was nothing to distract from the words.
